Garba Dandiya Raas

Dandiya dance is the dramatization of a mock fight between the Goddess and Mahishasura - the mighty demon-king. The sticks of the dance represent the sword of Durga. Garba is an Indian form of dance that originated in the Gujarat region. We will celebrate Navratri with three days of Garba, pulsating music, rhythm and lots of masti!!

Bharat s Rajawat, creative director of dance dynamix along with his assistant Mayur Patel will teach the participants for the first half hour about the dance. An authority on folk and western dance, Bharat has conducted shows all over India and has worked with Mallika Sarabhai, Phaguni Pathak, Javed Ali, Shruti Pathak etc.

We will follow this with dancing to the traditional tunes of garba in Indian attire. The event promises to be one rocking affair.
See you all!

*Dandiya sticks will be provided at the venue.
