Spiritual Portrait Sessions

Spiritual Portrait Sessions
Baring your Soul on Paper

Art exposes the hidden corners of one's soul. Spiritual art is a magical practice that brings healing and peace into our lives. Spiritual Portrait is a painting – a gate into your inner world that is followed by a spiritual message.

The artwork connects you to your light and the qualities of the soul that you came to manifest in this life. Looking at the painting in the outer world, you get inside yourself. You look at the picture and the picture is looking at you. This is a mysterious process. The portrait also contains a poetic message that helps in understanding the symbolic language of the artwork.

To create a painting, the physical presence of the person is not needed. The artist simply needs a recent photograph and our name. When the portrait is ready, we are offered an individual session where we dive into meditation and connect with the healing power of our portrait. The artwork will be made on a professional paper with ink, pencil and watercolors.

Darkness Meditation

Darkness meditation is used by many spiritual schools such as Tantra, Zen, Sufism and Taoism. It is synonymous with relaxation and deep calm. 75 percent of our energy flows through our eyes so in darkness this energy becomes available to us to experience the beyond. It becomes possible to know what is true and to really see for the first time what cannot be seen with the two eyes.

In this first phase of the new moon night, we will begin with a special breathing technique, gaze at a candle, connect to our navel center flame through body movements and finally gaze into darkness. We will experience the joy of becoming formless feeling one with existence.

It is rare to find a place where one can experiment with meditation methods in complete darkness. At Zorba the Buddha, we have created a special environment for this powerful experience in which you would want to indulge again and again.

Osho Meditation & White Robe Gathering

Osho Meditation White Robe Gathering

Osho - the master of masters, a modern day mystic whose wisdom, rebellious spirit and humour has transformed the lives of millions around the globe. His teachings liberated people from the shackles of religion and conformity. Osho coined the concept of a new man- Zorba the Buddha, one who celebrates and meditates.

On this day dedicated to imbibing and living Osho’s teachings, we will taste some of his work. The emphasis will be on experiencing rather than thinking. We will learn Osho meditation techniques which can be practised every day.  This workshop will help us in accessing & releasing our feelings and emotions. It will equip us with ways to allow our life energy to flow in a natural way and enter a state of balance. We will be able to connect with ourselves and others in a more open and spontaneous way.

We will end the day with Osho's White Robe Gathering with Osho's discourse and celebration followed by dinner. Come, let’s live his vision... And in spirit, meditate with the Buddha, dance with Krishna and celebrate with Rumi. As Osho meditations are active in nature, please come in comfortable clothing.

Expressive Art Workshop

Expressive Art Workshop

Awareness. Understanding. Meditation.

This three session workshop will allow us to explore free flowing, emotive and technical layers of art resulting in a beautiful amalgamation of these expressions. Each of these sessions as described below will give us a unique creative insight.

Cathartic Expression
The mind thinks in words hence in the first session we will clear the clutter in our minds through ‘Gibberish’. We will use radical expression through art, sound and body movements to release physical, mental and emotional stress.

Objective Drawing
Here at Zorba we are surrounded by serene ponds, lush green landscapes, dancing peacocks and humming birds serving as an ideal back drop for objective drawing. We will choose an object from this space and draw it keeping just technical aspects in mind devoid of any personal interpretation and emotion.

Subjective Drawing
We will then move towards subjective drawing and draw the same object as the previous day this time enhancing the technical features with our underlying emotions.
The final piece of work will be good representation of the real artist within us.

The AUM Meditation

The AUM Meditation
Awareness. Understanding. Meditation.

The AUM is a 4 hour guided tour through 12 different aspects of human nature: love, hate, stamina, life energy, chaos, dance, sadness, laughter, sensuality, chanting, silence and respect.  This process takes you from negative to positive, anger to love, catharsis to stillness, finally bringing you back into your center.

The AUM is a ‘Social Meditation’ which means that only a part of the process is done by yourself whilst other aspects involve interaction with people. When you do the AUM you will discover a completion which is not often felt in other groups.

Participants who have done this meditation describe the experience as cleansing, heart-opening, relaxing, energizing, insightful and fun.

Note: Parts of the AUM can be somewhat confronting.

Osho Sufi Sutras

Osho Sufi Sutras

A Survival Intensive for the Urban Sufi

What is Sufism? Isn’t it like a lot of esoteric stuff? Sufism is simple. It comes from the root word Safa. It means pure, innocent. Rumi, Rabiya, Jabbar. They were mystics who rediscovered their ability to be wonder-full.
Can one practice Sufism while living a modern life? Sufism has many maps. Its language usually belongs to a world that most of us in modern life cannot access. But we are lucky to have Osho, a contemporary master who has decoded many of these secrets for us. Simply, playfully.
So how does a Sufi survive in a world which has little time, little air, little water, little space? S/he practises. Some simple everyday wisdom sutras. Clear pathways, but no short cuts. Can they be practiced at home? Oh yes! Ideally in a meditation space in your house. But also in your car, in your office, in the hotel room, or in the rest room.
What will the retreat entail? Total commitment from you. To participate, to become one with the process. There will be 5-6 sessions per day starting from 6:30 am till 8 pm at least. There will be breaks, but since this is an intensive we will want all your energies focused in the meditation hall.
Hey! So busy?! But i thought this is a retreat! Life works in polar opposites. Night follows day. Winter, Summer. So, the first step to relaxation is … action. There will be relaxation, deepest you have been through, but before that you will have to work towards it. Nothing comes free. And yes, all sessions will be spaced out with tea, lunch, nature cuddle breaks.

Tantric Dance Event

Tantric Dance Event

A Fusion of Dance, Chakra-work and Meditation

An ancient Indian creation myth says that our universe has been created through a dance... the dance of Shiva and Shakti, the dance of male and female energies. In this Tantric Dance event, we warm up in playful games to come into the flow with our own body and energy, leading into the meeting of opposite energies. We unite our passion with conscious connection to ourselves and others. Then we simply enjoy free-flow dancing— in pair or alone, connected to universe we are all a vital part of. Tantra Dance is a sensual fusion of dance, tantra, chakra work and meditation. It is the simple joy of connecting with others.

*This evening event is available for singles or couples. There’s no need of prior experience with tantra or meditation.
