Pottery & Ceramics Course

If pottery and working with clay interests you, then ‘The Magic of Clay’ is for you. It includes various elements of wheelwork, hand building, preparing the clay-wedging, to centering, pulling, glazing and firing. Distinguished artists, Rahul & Baishakhi will be our faculty for the course.

Faculty:

Rahul has done his masters in fine Arts from Kala Bhawan, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan. He has received the Junior Fellowship by the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India (2013-2015). He also has to his credit the merit scholarships from - the Krishna Kirti Foundation, Hyderabad and Kala Bhawan, Visva Bharti University. He recently got much recognition for his Solo Show & co-ordination of workshop ‘Mysterious Terracotta’ with eminent women artists, at NIV Art Centre.

Baishakhi is a Masters in Fine Arts from MS University, Baroda, Gujarat. She received Merit Scholarship from the Visva Bharati University (2005-2008). She has participated in various exhibitions at – Kala Bhawan, Nandan Art Gallery 2004-2008, Gallery Upstairs 2008, Kolkata M S University Baroda 2010, Group Show 2011 in Ahmedabad to name a few.


The coursework will include:
·        Experiment with different processes of clay handling to produce sculpture, mural,  installation in ceramics and terracotta medium.
·        Expressing thoughts and ideas through exploration of wheel pottery and hand pottery.
·        Exploring ideas with different glaze techniques.

Total No. of classes: 24 (to be taken inthe span of 3 months)

Days on which classes will be conducted: Thu, Fri, Sat & Sun (can be chosen as per convenience)

Timings: 11am - 1pm

Participation will be by Contribution
