Learn & Explore the Realm of Fine Arts with Trishna Patnaik

Fine Arts
Many of us have felt the urge to pick up a paint brush and explore where it might lead us, but we have never actually gotten down to doing it. We invite you to spend more than a weekend doing just that. The following four painting workshops would be conducted here, at Zorba the Buddha.

Warli Art Workshop,

30th July, 2015 (Thursday), 3 PM TO 6 PM
Warli art is a beautiful folk art of Maharashtra. The most important aspect of the painting is that it does not depict mythological characters or images of deities, but social life. Get a chance to appreciate the art form and create your very own Warli Art masterpiece.

Madhubani Art Workshop

31st July, 2015 (Friday), 3 PM TO 7 PM
Madhubani or Mithila painting is a folk art form which originated from Mithila region of Bihar. The paintings are traditionally based on mythological, folk themes and pastoral symbols. The designs announce the occasion of the celebration and solicit good fortune and divine blessings. Get a chance to appreciate the art form and create your very own Madhubani Art masterpiece.

African Art Workshop
1st August, 2015 (Saturday), 3 PM TO 7 PM
African Art has played a significant role in shaping the culture and history of the world. The human figure has always been the primary subject matter for most African art. We will be focussing on tall stick ‘dancing’ figures for our painting in the African Art workshop. The figures will be very dynamic, and the colours used will mostly be red, white, grey or black. We will then, decorate them with unusual patterns and festive clothing.

Coffee Essence Workshop
2nd August, 2015 (Sunday), 3 PM TO 6 PM
Coffee Essence Workshop is basically coffee painting. The workshop will show you how coffee can be used to create anything you desire from abstracts, graphics, and landscapes to figurines! We will work on a landscape which will be a common composition for the whole group. We will also work on a graphic or contemporary piece, which will be our original work.
